Lex Luthor and Alfred ANNOUNCED for Batman vs Superman!!
So today we got hit right out of left field with some serious news surrounding the Man of Steel 2 movie tha has been pushed back to May of 2016. We officially have an announcement from Warner Bros. that Zach Snyder has his Lex Luthor in the form of Jesse Eisenberg and his Alfred in the form of Jeremy Irons.
Lets start with Jesse and what Snyder had to say..."Lex Luthor is often considered the most notorious of Superman's rivals, his unsavory reputation preceding him since 1940. What's great about Lex is that he exist beyond the confines of the stereotypical nefarious villain. He's a complicated and sophisticated character whose intellect, wealth and prominence position him as one of the few mortals able to challenge the incredible might of Superman. Having Jesse in the role allows us to explore that interesting dynamic, and also take the character in some new and unexpected directions." What he has to say about the Lex character is something I think is completely true. Lex is an important part of the Superman mythology and I was really hoping to see him. About the Jesse casting though...honestly at first I was pissed. He has been movies such as, Now You See Me, The Double and Social Network which he was nominated for an Oscar for but I just did not see him as a Lex type. I took some time to think on it and its been growing on me more an more but I am still not totally sold on the idea. I hope and think that there is still a level of talent that Jesse has not shown us yet and we get to see it here in this role. So for the moment I am cautiously optimistic.
Now for the Jeremy Irons and Snyder's thoughts on the Alfred character and Jeremy as the portrayer..."As everyone knows, Alfred is Bruce Wayne's most trusted friend, ally and mentor, a noble guardian and father figure. He is an absolutely critical element in the intricate infrastructure that allows Bruce Wayne to transform himself into Batman. Its an honor t have such an amazingly seasoned and gifted actor as Jeremy taking on the important role of the man who mentors and guides the guarded and nearly impervious facade that encapsulates Bruce Wayne." I am over the moon with this casting of Irons as Alfred. Ever since I saw him in Kingdom of Heaven (one of my all time favorite historical films), Beautiful Creatures where he still every scene he is in, and the TV show The Borgias which to my dismay was canceled. Jeremy is a fantastic actor who has won the Oscar in '91 and the Golden Globe in '07 among many many other awards over the years. The Alfred casting is by far my favorite piece of news regarding the Man of Steel sequel lately.
SUPER-BOWL Spider-Man Teaser...pt 1
With the Super-Bowl coming Sunday and a nice teaser for the teaser trailer of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 coming out early...and the fact that it is by far the best one to come out yet, I had to give my short feelings on it. So yesterday we got this trailer with a ton of new scenes and action, plus if you notice it gives a little more of the story surrounding Peter, Gwen and Electro. Not a lot of course but just enough to grab your attention especially with the ending scene of Gwen falling from the sky and Spider-Man jumping to catch her but still falling through a glass ceiling...yeah...some what heart pounding. I personally don't watch the Super-Bowl for the Football I watch for the trailers and teasers so you can be sure following the Super-Bowl I will address as many of them as I can!

Gambit movie!?!?!
Earlier X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner during an interview said that she would really like to make a Gambit movie and that Channing Tatum has expressed interest in the role...the kicker is that no studio has green light the film yet. I for one would LOVE to see a Gambit movie...after the X-Men Origins Wolverine...Gambit due for a good standalone movie. Plus he is definitely a character that can stone on his own much like Wolverine in my opinion. Am I ok with Channing as Gambit...I am not sure actually...something tells me he could really pull it off but its still unclear at the moment. Would you all like to see a Gambit standalone movie with Channing in the lead?
Here is a brief history of the mutant Gambit courtesy of marvel.com/universe/Gambit. " Abandoned at birth due to his burning red eyes, the child who would one day become Remy LeBeau was kidnapped from his hospital ward by members of the New Orleans Thieves' Guild who referred to the child as "le diable blanc" - the white devil. They believed he was the child that had been prophesied to unite the warring Guilds. Soon after, Remy was placed in the care of a gang of street thieves who raised the child and taught him the ways of thievery. Later, when he was around ten years old, Remy attempted to pick the pocket of Jean-Luc LeBeau, then-patriarch of the Thieves’ Guild. Jean-Luc took the boy in off the streets and adopted him into his own family. As part of a peace pact between the Thieves’ Guild and their rivals, the Assassin’s Guild, a marriage was arranged between Remy and Bella Donna Boudreaux, the granddaughter of the head of the Assassin's Guild. However, Bella Donna's brother Julien objected to the marriage and challenged Gambit to a duel. Remy killed Julien in self-defense, but was excommunicated and banished from New Orleans in an attempt to maintain the nonaggression pact between the two guilds. Remy wandered the world as he plied his skills as a master thief, aided by his mutant power to charge objects with explosive energy. He employed playing cards he charged with kinetic energy as his trademark weapon. At one point Remy had approached the master geneticist Mr. Sinister for help in controlling his powers. Sinister removed some of Remy's brain tissue to reduce his power levels, thus affording him a greater degree of control. As a result, Remy was now in the geneticist's debt, and Sinister subsequently charged the thief with assembling the team of assassins called the Marauders. Remy did not realize that Sinister would employ the Marauders to massacre the underground mutant community known as the Morlocks. Seeing the horrific results of his actions, Remy attempted to stop the massacre but was almost killed by the Marauder named Sabretooth. However, he did manage to save one young Morlock girl who would one day grow up to become the X-Man named Marrow. Eventually, Remy encountered Storm, a member of the outlaw team of mutant adventurers known as the X-Men. Storm had been transformed into an amnesiac child who had turned to theft as a means to survive. Remy helped her escape her enemy, the malevolent psionic entity known as the Shadow King, and they became partners. Later, when the X-Men's founder Professor Charles Xavier returned from a long period of traveling in outer space, Storm sponsored Remy's admission into the X-Men."
James Bond is...a Lawyer??
That's right folks, Daniel Craig's next work besides James Bond is going to be a court room drama. There is absolutely no information on the film except a title and the leading role at the moment...but that's ok. Daniel Craig will be staring in The Whole Truth, and as I said its a court room drama film, as much as I say blah to court room films I will probably see this just because it has Daniel Craig in it. Hes a great actor and it will be nice to see him in something outside of James Bond again.
M. Night Shaymalan New Movie!!
Just look at that smile...its the smile of someone saying..."Yes, I have ruined another beloved franchise and film!" So M. Night is working another film from an old script, by old I mean its from his before Signs days. And its sounding like Bruce Willis is attached to lead...honestly I have no desire to see any thing that has been touched by this guy, after The Last Airbender and After Earth...I have no faith in the guy anymore, even with Bruce Willis attached. I don't care what he's making, I will not waste money on any of his films every again, unless he finally finds the stride he lost after Signs, Unbreakable, and The Sixth Sense.
Thor 3 Moving Forward and Coming!
I suppose announcing that Captain America directors Anthony and Joe being signed on for Captain America 3 wasn't enough of a news drop from Marvel that they had to announce that they are also moving ahead with a Thor 3. As of right now writer Craig Kyle is being asked to draft up a screen play/script according to Kevin Feige at Marvel. There are a lot people happy with this news, but there are some who are not...those that aren't are the ones really hoping for a Black Panther or Dr.Strange film and they are wondering how, if they are making Captain 3 and Thor 3, do they plan to bring these beloved heroes to the screen...To those fans I say, be patient...studios make movies to make money, so if they are working on 2 or 3 movies that are for sure money makers, its gives Marvel wiggle room to experiment with a Black Panther film and a Dr.Strange film. I am with you guess, I would personally really love to see a Dr.Strange movie, I think he is an amazing character and would fit nicely into the universe they have already. So I still have hope!! Also don't forget that Thor the Dark World is coming to DVD and Blu-Ray at end of February with a bonus short about the Mandarin!!
Vin Diesel in XXX 3??
Rogue in Next X-Men Film!?
There are unconfirmed reports from director Bryan Singer of X-Men Days of Future Past that even though Anna Paquin's Rogue has been cut from the final product that we will still at least see the Rogue character in the movie. So to clarify...she will be seen and not heard...ouch. Everyone by now knows my feelings on the Rogue character in the movies, I think its weak but seeing her in the background is something I don't mind. If anything else its a nice nod to the fans saying, "hey, this character does still exist in this universe." so I am good with seeing her in a few shots ect. What about you guys?

For the GUYS!! Unhung Hero Review!!
I came across this when I was searching for something new to watch and I could not believe that someone had actually made a documentary about it and just had to watch it. Ignoring the obvious message of the film I found it enlightening and worth a watch for any guy out there that is insecure, and asking the same question to himself. The movie it funny, disturbing, enlightening, and brings a huge issue/question that has been surfacing more and more over the years with the rise of porn and the common misconception addressed here. So give it a watch, if nothing else you can laugh and make fun of the guy that actually put his issue onto a documentary for the world to see!
Felicity from Arrow getting a back story
Yes everyone, Felicity Smoak from my favorite TV show Arrow is getting a back story to go with her triangle relationship of Oliver and Dig finally! The episode should be coming to us in season 2. For everyone that follows the show they pretty much know that Felicity outside of Oliver and his war on crime we know very little about her except shes Jewish, is a computer genius, likes cute dresses and bright lipstick. Oh and did not jumping from a plane (not that I blame her there). So it will be nice to see her in her own element so to speak. See what she does with what little free time she has and what she possibly did before helping Oliver become the Arrow. Keep up with Arrow and all its action filled awesomeness on the CW Wed. nights.
Supernatural Spinoff!!
Elementary TV Show Review!
So a good friend turned me on to this and at first I had no intention of watching it because it looked like just another cop drama...but what can I say...Lucy Liu is really hot. I am currently on episode 10 of season one and figured I would give me thoughts so far...and so far its not bad. Sherlock is quiet hilarious, and so odd that he reminds of the friend that suggested I watch this. Lucy is a great Watson, and I may just be saying that because shes beautiful but what ever. I like how Sherlock goes about solving the crimes and pushing every ones buttons, even funnier when his seemingly odd/random thoughts turn out to be true. So I will continue watching and hope the story starts to get a little deeper and involved opposed to a one crime per episode short story show.
Seth Rogen and James Franco Next work!
(Hill, Rogen, Franco)
Sausage Party...yes that's right, Seth and James next work is an R-rated animated comedy about sausage. Sausage Party focuses on one heroic piece of meat's quest to discover the truth about his existence. After falling out of a shopping cart, the sausage protagonist teams up with some new friends to embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket and return to their aisles before the Fourth of July sale. On top of the ridicules sound of this movie they have attached a crazy roster of talent including, Seth, Hill, Franco,Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, Kristen Wiig, Edward Norton, and Nick Kroll. I honestly don't even know how to react to this film...it sounds totally stupid but at the same time I really want to see it. So thoughts on Sausage Party? Let me know!!
Blood Mountain to star....
Benedict Cumberbatch has been signed on to star in Blood Mountain, directed by Sergei Bodrov and co-produced by Lawrence Bender. Blood Mountain follows the exploits of a private military contractor who must escort a famous terrorist through enemy territory to bring him to justice. Just with that description and Benedict attached its a huge buy for me! I love Benedict in everything he's in, 12 years a slave, Star Trek, Sherlock, you name it I loved him. So yes I like the sounds of this and can't wait to see it. Its set to start shooting in April.
Captain America 3 in the works?
TMNT First Look!!
We are finally getting our first look at the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action movie being directed by Johnathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay. Earlier we got a sneak at what some were considering the actual look/style of the turtles in the film...(the the right)...I don't know about you guys but that is just horrible. Everything about that screams..."I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS MOVIE!! SCREW THE FANS!!" Obviously this isn't true, since today a first unofficial/official look at Leonardo and Shedders film design was "leaked". I say leaked in quotes because more than likely it was intentional to quell the hatred for the picture on the right...So here below is the look we should very much hope to see.
For some this may not be the look you were hoping for, but me personally, I really like this look. Leonardo looks like a bad ass and certainly someone/something capable of taking on Shredder. Shredder actually looks like a bad guy out of my nightmares and not someone I'd want to run into in a dark alley. Is it different from what we as fans are use to? Yes it is, but I don't think that's a bad thing, we will just have to wait, see, and hope.
Legends of Oz: Dorthy's Return Trailer!!
OH...
MY...
GOSH...
Am I serious? Yes I am. There is an animated Oz movie coming our way and I just came across the trailer via Fandango and...well I am a lover of the original Wizard of Oz so naturally I watched it...ugh. I honestly can not find the appropriate words to describe my dislike of what I saw. The characters look horrible, the story/premise just doesn't feel right. Of course this is obviously directed to children so to some degree I can understand why some things are the way they are. But that still does not mean that you have spit on everything that makes the original Wizard of Oz so good. Then again, I have not seen the movie yet...there is still a small chance that my mind could change, will have to wait and see I suppose...Enjoy the trailer!Tuesday, January 28, 2014
News from FOX Studios!! X-Men Ect
With Justin Lin moving beyond Fast and the Furious words are flying about his next project tackling Toymageddon from Fox Studios...yes, that's right. Sounds almost like a Small Soldier rip off to me personally but hey, maybe there is something I'm just not seeing here. The description tells it like so...a mix between Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters. The film is going to be a live-action family adventure, which is very different from anything Lin has done before, as of right now Lin is set to produce the movie and possibly direct.
Also from Fox, Empire Magazine in their latest issue gives us 25 new covers about the upcoming X-Men DoFP film, and one of these covers features Anna Paquin in her Rogue costume...is this a precursor to her possibly getting her slot back in the film? I personally do not think so because she was taken out for a reason and as I said before, her character in the movies is very weak, almost unneeded. What about you all? Thoughts?
Pitch Perfect 2!?
After the huge success of the first one and the loads of money it brought in it should be no surprise that a sequel is coming our way...The comedy/musical was made on a budget of $17 million and took in $113 million putting its profits as a musical just behind School of Rock. Now with the random fact out of the way, Pitch Perfect 2 has grabbed Elizabeth Banks to make her first ever directorial debut. For those that don't know, Banks worked on the first one as well, even playing a small role in the film. Her latest acting achievements are in the Hunger Games films as Effie. At first when I heard the news about a sequel and Banks being attached to direct I was like..."wait, why?" Then I thought about it some more and this is actually a pretty smart move for her as a debut, its almost a guaranteed success and the budget for the film should be small enough that even if by some random quirk it doesn't make as much as the first one it wont hurt her. So I am all for this and wish her luck!
Divergent Sequel Talks!
With Divergent only months away, and the increasing hope/hype for the film adaptation of the popular book series Summit Entertainment has started making plans for the next book to be adapted by hiring Academy Award Winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman to begin working on the next script for Insurgent. Goldsman for those that do not know, worked on such movies as I am Legend, I, Robot, and of course the film that won him his Academy Award, a Beautiful Mind. So as you can see hes no stranger to drama, and Sci-fi films, in fact I really like this choice by Summit to hire him on. My only worry at the moment is if the first one will be as good as I hope it will be.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 Director Interview!
During a recent interview with Total Film Magazine, director Mark Webb of the Amazing Spider-Man movies went on record to talk about his upcoming Spider-Man sequel...
Of course with this said we have to remember that he is the director and as such its part of his job to speak highly and promote his latest work. But also as a huge fan of the last one and the slew of posters and trailers released for Amazing Spider-Man 2 I am inclined to believe him about the sequel being grander in scale and progressing chemistry of the characters. So I can't wait to see what hes directly referring to for myself.
"We're Pushing the levels of effects, the level of action and the emotional capacity of the kid. It's an aggressive forward...We throw around the term 'operatic' because of the spectacle and the theater involved, which is pretty epic. There are enormous sets and great set-pieced.But really it's a very intimate song. This relationship between Peter and Gwen is very delicate and beautiful."

This is 40 Movie Review
I am kinda late to this movie...but I can honestly say I could of lived without seeing it. The movie was raunchy and funny at times, but over all I think Knocked up was the better movie. Watching something about a couple in a mid-life crisis is truly no fun to watch. I am not sure what I can even say beyond that without giving spoilers away for a pretty boring movie...I know, its like an edited porno that's trying to be something its not. 4/10!
The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D TV Show Review
So I just finished Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season one, I honestly had no intention of watching it...ever. But my curiosity got the better of me, and for once I'm ok with that. The show is by no means perfect but it is enjoyable to watch to a certain degree. If in season two they cut back on the corny and up the seriousness/drama I think it could be a really good show to go along with their cinematic universe. There is a lot of possibility there with Skye's history, Agent Coulson's near death past, the chemistry between the group as a whole and pairs as well like Simmons and Fitz or May and Ward. So basically I enjoy watching for the most part, there are things I hope to see in season two but am not going to hold it against them that don't address everything.
WB's Pan has their Brown Beard!
Warner Bros. has announced that Hugh Jackman has officially signed on for the upcoming live-action adaptation with a darker twist of Peter Pan. Which is currently set to release in June 2015. I really like this casting, its been swimming around in rumor for awhile now, and I think I talked about before, but Jackman is an incredible actor and I think he will be a good Brown Beard. Plus Jackman and Joe are no strangers to working with each other either.
New Maleficent Trailer
As much as I am anticipating this movie...I am getting slightly tired of the trailers showing the same things for the most part. Which is my general problems with trailers anyways. But with that said I do like this more than the last one simply because of the song used and there are no goofy looking fairies. So here you go, the new Maleficent trailer.
Oh, I also like Angelina's laugh, its sexy, creepy, and exactly what you'd expect/want.
MY Must see Upcoming February Releases
First on the list of my most anticipated February movies is The Lego Movie...yes that is right, The Lego Movie. When I first saw the trailer for this I shook my head in disbelief, after awhile though it started to sink in and I saw more and more about it. Now I can honestly saw I can not wait to see this movie, its look hilarious, the idea/premise behind it with the mixture of all the different Lego characters and voice talent attached should make for an enjoyable time.
Now for the next thing on my very short list...Robocop. So with this remake/reboot of the Robocop franchise I figured I should re-watch the original's...holy crap I forgot just how bloody and messy they were...I loved it. And taking into account the age of the first films and the limits of special effects available at the time...it got me really excited to see what they have in store with the reboot considering the advances in the film industry. So yes, really just excited to see the new take on a old classic in Robocop!
Now the last movie on my February list...Winter's Tale. I am pretty sure the only reasons I plan to see this is because of Collin, Crowe, and the trailer actually made me cry. Yes the trailer made me cry, so what, that means to me that hopefully the movie will be great and worth the time to see!

Ghost in the Shell Live Action!?
Yes everyone, the beloved manga/anime Ghost in the Shell is looking to get the live action makeover/adaption according to reports from the online news universe. Rupert Sanders has supposedly been signed on to direct the film for DreamWorks, but this is more than likely several years down the line considering he currently has 1-2 projects ahead of this one already. I personally do not want this movie adapted to a live-action film, taking Japanese anime/manga and trying to turn them into good live-action films in the past (Dragon Ball Evolution...)has not really turned out to well, so as of right now I have no desire to see this happen.
Alfonso, Gravity Director Wins at DGA Awards!
(Alfonso Cuaron)
Quentin Tarantino heading to court!
So after all the back stabbing and mistrust with Quentin's latest work now being tossed aside, we hear yet again that someone has stooped low enough to take the full script of The Hateful Eight and promote people reading it illegally via a link on their website. The website in question is Gawker Media and Tarantino is suing them for damages and unlawful profiting from his copyrighted work, among other such accusations. This is all in early stages at the moment but supposedly Gawker was approached by Tarantino's lawyer to take down the link and with support from their own lawyer/lawyer's they have done it. Now we will just have to wait and see how this all unfolds for the two parties.
