Will Smith not returning for Independence Day 2!

   After a long and taxing negotiation between Director of the first film Roland Emmerich and Will Smith to reprise his role from Independence Day as Cpt. Steven Hiller it is confirmed that he will not be returning. Which Roland was prepared for in reports stating that they were working on 2 distinct scripts to cover both bases. Even though this movie is what set Smith's career on its path to stardom...I suppose I can see why he didn't want to return even if it is selfish. But that said, I do not think even remotely that he is needed for the sequel, his character can be written out or even re-cast. And that is exactly the kind of rumor that is flying around. It seems 20th Century Fox is in talks with Michael B Jordan to portray a new character in the sequel and I think that would be fantastic. I recently had the chance to see Fruitvale, and he was outstanding in it, plus his role in Chronicle of course. So to sum up, Smith not returning for sequel, I don't mind that, Jordan in talks for the sequel, I like that idea very much, and lastly, Independence Day 2...I suppose I can get on board a sequel for now, but my hopes for the movie at the moment are not high.
