Non-Stop Movie REVIEW!!!

I just got home from watching Liam Neeson's new movie and let me tell you...it was NOT what I was expecting it to be. I went into this movie with an open mind but with the thought that it would probably be just a run of the mill high jacking movie. The constant twists and thriller type feel to this movie had me guessing all the way to the end...and I was still wrong! That is not something that happens to me very often, so when it does I take great notice of the film that managed it. I highly recommend seeing this. If you like seeing Neeson kick ass and take names, you will see that, but with so much more. Here is a little synopsis of the film courtesy of Rotten Tomato..."During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks (Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the government to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account. Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes." as you can see, it seems rather straight forward. I am glad I was wrong. Everyone of the actors and actress did a great job, the action was done just right, the constant thriller feel and twists just really worked for me. I have to give this a 8.5/10...maybe even a 9/10. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. So have you seen it yet? If so what are your thoughts on it?

Ted 2 grabs is new female Lead in...

Amanda Seyfried is to be the new female lead in the upcoming Ted 2. Replacing Mila Kunis character who at the moment is either being cut or just have reduced screen time. Seth MacFarlane claims that the move is to better the story and when someone has great with comedic story telling says that...you kind of have to go with it. I don't personally care one way or the other about Amanda, shes been good in some films and blah in others, maybe something like Ted is just what she needs.

Shrek 5 and Smurfs 3?!?!?!

That's right, we may be getting a Shrek 5 according to Dreamworks who in a recent interview said that "they only needed a rest". I don't personally see a problem with another Shrek movie, they are fun comedies with likable characters and interesting stories. So I say have at it. As for Smurfs 3...which by the way is suppose to be full animation unlike the first 2, I am going to have to pass for now. I enjoyed the first one but the second one...*shudder* can't even mention just how bad it was.

Another new 3 min TASM2 Trailer...

I have not watched the new trailer, and I have no intention to either. I think they have given us more than enough with what they have released prior to this trailer. I would rather not see anymore until the movie is actually out. SO I will will not see this trailer, bu there are some that will/want to so this is just a heads up that its out. Can find it on Youtube I am sure. Enjoy!
Also we have confirmation that Mark Webb has signed on for the Amazing Spiderman 3, nothing else has been released about the project. My only fear it that it might be a Sam Raimi situation with the third one...I really hope not though.

NEW Full length Godzilla Trailer!!

I LOVE this trailer sooo much more than the first teaser trailer we got. Don't take my word for it, watch and see for yourself!!
See what I mean, Godzilla looks bad ass, huge and we finally get a sense of where the story is coming from and going. Something we did not get with the teaser. This has actually made me really excited for the movie. I can't wait.

Sony to produce Console Wars directed by Seth Rogen

A movie retelling the battle for video game dominance between Nintendo and Sega during the early '90s is on the way — and it's being produced by Sony...yeah that's right, Sony. The book, "Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation" by Blake Harris is being adapted for the silver screen by Scott Rudin, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg — with the latter two writing the script(needs writing a video game script, it has to be good!). Sony Pictures and Scott Rudin (Moneyball, The Social Network) are developing Console Wars as a feature film to be directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Knocked Up, Superbad). Rogen and Goldberg are also writing the screenplay. Harris is serving as Executive Producer, and is also co-directing a documentary on the same subject, with Rudin, Rogen and Goldberg producing as well.

Harold Ramis passes away at 69...

Comedic genius, writer and director has passed away at 69...Harold is best known by many as Egon in the Ghostbusters, but his body of works extends way beyond just that with movies such as Year One, Groundhog Day and Caddyshack. On Monday, Ramis was surrounded by family in his North Shore home when he died at 12:53 a.m. of complications from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels, said his wife, Erica Mann Ramis. Harold's serious health struggles began in May 2010 with an infection that led to complications related to the autoimmune disease, his wife said. Ramis had to relearn to walk and suffered a relapse of the vasculitis in late 2011, said Laurel Ward, vice president of development at Ramis' Ocean Pictures production company. He never fully recovered. Ramis leaves behind a formidable list of achievements as well as 3 children. He will be missed and remembered as one of the greatest comedic writers of all time.

NEW Godzilla and Guardians of the Galaxy posters!

Kind of dull...and very cocky actually...but hey, its Marvel. After all this time I think a certain level of cockiness is to be expected LOL.

DAM!!! Look at the size of that!! I would be running through the streets screaming my head of as well...now I finally understand Japan...now I understand...

Will Smith to join SciFi movie Brilliance!!

According to "The Wrap", Will Smith is due to star in an adaptation of Marcus Sakey's sci-fi/superhero novel, Brilliance(haven't read it yet) and short film director Julius Onah is helming the project, while Jurassic Park scribe, David Koepp, is handling the writing. So, what's Brilliance about? Well, it tells of a world where 1% of people are born with special powers - some seem relatively benign (to the point of uselessness), while others can be extremely powerful, it sounds pretty awesome in my opinion and I think Will shines in good Sci-fi films without question. But here's a synopsis for the book...
In Wyoming, a little girl reads people's darkest secrets by the way they fold their arms. In New York, a man sensing patterns in the stock market racks up $300 billion. In Chicago, a woman can go invisible by being where no one is looking. They're called "brilliants," and since 1980, one percent of people have been born this way. Nick Cooper is among them; a federal agent, Cooper has gifts rendering him exceptional at hunting terrorists. His latest target may be the most dangerous man alive, a brilliant drenched in blood and intent on provoking civil war. But to catch him, Cooper will have to violate everything he believes in—and betray his own kind.
A girl who goes invisible by being somewhere where no one is looking...wait...WHAT??!! This seems like a useless power but hey, if it works for the story so be it!! So what are your thoughts on the sound of this?

DR. STRANGE!! Yep we have heard of some head way...

Nothing mind blowing as of yet...but we have hear that Marvel has a short list of potential directors to take a crack at a Dr. Strange movie. Do you want a Dr. Strange movie or a Black Panther movie...let the debate begin!!!

NEW Great look at the new Green Goblin!!

We have had fast distant glimpses at the new Goblin for the the Amazing Spiderman 2 movie, but until recently, nothing this close up. I have to say I really like it, its something you can ground in the reality they have created so far, and anything is better than the mask from Spiderman a few years back now...I guess that;s all there is to say about it...haha what do you guys think of this look?

Vin Diesel talk The Last Witch Hunter!!

Vin Diesel....one of Hollywood's greatest nerds, has released some concept art for his next project that he wants to do you titled, The Last Witch Hunter. Obviously from the title its easy to see where this id going, Vin is a witch hunter who faces a problem that is to big to handle alone and has to team up with his sworn enemy. Simple enough of an idea, but still sounds interesting to me. especially after seeing the concept art for it. Looks like LotR meets Warhammer. Pretty bad ass looking. What about you all, something you'd be interested in seeing?

Terminator Genesis casting news!!

Jai Courtney has been cast for the role of Kyle Reese, after a and full of guys have tried out we finally got out Kyle for a new attempt at a stand alone trilogy. Jason Clarke has been cast as John Connor, Emilia Clarke is set to play Sarah Connor and of course the man himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger is reprising his role. There has been no word on possible plot details just yet...so keep your eyes peeled!

Fantastic Four Cast Announced!!

The new Fantastic Four reboot has finally announced its cast, Miles Teller, Michael B Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell. Its a great cast of outstanding rising star talents...but like most people I am worried that they are kind of young...well at least I was until I found out that in comics they are shown at younger ages at one point. So I am less leery about it now. Anything has got to be better than the last ones to come out...*shudder* Anyways, what are your thoughts on this? Let me know!

22 Jump Street NEW TRAILER!!

I say new, but actually all they did was switch a few scenes and added a new ending...but it is totally hilarious! I loved the first one, one of the funniest films of the particular year in my opinion, so when I heard about a second I was thrilled, and so far from the 2 trailers we have gotten I have not been disappointed at all, but don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself below.

Avatar slowly getting its start!

James Cameron has said that they are slowly moving forward with production of Avatar 2, they are currently working on the software and script for the film. Cameron is also debating shooting the film in a 60 Frames per second instead of the traditional 24 FPS. I Do not really have a preference so long as the movie is good, but for someone of Cameron's caliber wanting to push the film envelop again, so to speak, I am ok with him shooting his movie any way he likes.

Angry birds Movie still On the Way!

Title says more that I care to already about this..yes the movie is still coming, and obviously I do not care about it at all HAHAHA oh, they are teaming up with
to do their animation by the way, now...Moving ON!!

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy TRAILER!!

First, sorry about nothing new being posted in the past few days, been really busy studying and with other things...BUT now that I found the time, let's talk some movie news!!!

FINALLY! We get our first look at one of the most outrageous parts of the Marvel comic universe turned movie in the first trailer for The Guardians of the Galaxy. I really really enjoyed this trailer, its was funny, a great introduction to the characters, gives you a feel of the tone and style of the movie and is all around what I wanted to see from the first peek at the movie. Chris Pratt looks great as Starlord and I must agree with most of you that his is certainly Chris's year with The Lego Movie, Guardians, and Jurassic Park. For more information of the Guardians as a whole, click here... http://fedoramoviegoer.blogspot.com/2013/12/new-years-eve-movie-news-catch-up.html

The Dark Crystal Movie Review!!!

I was searching for something to watch, then came across The Dark Crystal, and I realized it has been at least 18 years since the last time I watched it. What I remembered most is that at the time, it scared the crap out of me, but i was just a kid so, after watching it again today, I can understand why. On top of being rather frightening for a child's movie, its also rather dark. Even though I say all that, by no means does it mean that it's a bad movie, it's quiet the opposite actually. It is a timeless classic with an amazing story and full of vast possibilities for more expansions into that world and who can forget that its all done with puppets.
The stories meaning is actually both simple and complicated much like what our actual lives are, its about the struggle of good and evil, and the balance that each of us must find on our own. I am sure there is much more to it as well, in fact I might watch it a few more times HAHA, but regardless. The movie is still fascinating to watch, all the characters are still relevant and easy to connect with, it reminds me a lot of the original Star Wars movies for some reason. The fact that the movie is made entirely of puppets is actually one of its charm points, and just seeing what they were able to do with it is fantastic and pretty epic.
Over the years there have been several talks about expanding on the universe, doing a prequel or a sequel, but everything so far has ended up nowhere and its too bad. I would of loved to see more of these characters, I read today that there is suppose to be a book...I might need to try and find it. So The Dark Crystal, a dated movie in terms of graphic quality, but considering its a 1982 film with puppets, it deserves a lot of credit, plus with the amazing story, score, and characters, I give The Dark Crystal an 8/10!

The Right kind of Wrong Movie Review!!!

So I have no idea why I watched this...except that True Blood star Ryan Kwanten is in it. Maybe its because V-Day is close, maybe for no reason at all. But now that I have, it's time for a review!! I think its a good date movie, its funny, charming, and way outside the normal. So guys, with V-Day upon you, consider this as an option. The story follows Ryan's character Leo, who's ex-wife started a blog about everything wrong with him, and it goes viral, of course for the most part he doesn't care, until she gets a book deal/release, mostly because he is a struggling writer. That's when things get interesting, he falls for a very sexy blonde named Colette, played by Sara Canning, at er own wedding. And from there, the hilarity begins. So I give The Right Kind of Wrong a 7/10...maybe a 6.5/10...I mean its still a romance, but its a tolerable one for the guys.

The Single Moms Club trailer and thoughts!!!

Tyler Perry brings us another comedy driven drama...only this time its about single moms. The Single Moms Club, so the film follows 5 single mothers that put their differences aside to put together a support group to aid each other through their individual hardships. The film hits theaters March 14th and we got out first look at it. Now allow me to be honest...this movie obviously was not made for someone like me...but with that said...I thought the trailer was touching, witty, funny, and actually something that I will probably watch and enjoy. Don't take my word for it though, check out the trailer below and decide for yourself.

Think like a Man Too trailer and thoughts!!!

After the alarming success of the first Think like a Man movie on a modest budget of $12 million and making ~$100 million...it should be no surprise that a sequel is coming, and that we got our first trailer for the June 20th 2014 release. I am one of the guys that really did not want to see the first one...but I am man enough to say that after seeing it I actually liked it, It was funny, charming, and what you'd expect from a African American based film. After seeing the trailer for the sequel, I hope its just as good as the first but I won't complain if its better! Kevin looks hilarious as always and the returning cast brings an air of nostalgia that has me some what happy for the film. So here you go, the first trailer for Think like a Man Too!

The life of Tupac movie??

(John Singleton)
It seems close friend of Tupac and director of 2 Fast 2 Furious, John Singleton, is set to direct and work on a life of Tupac film. There is no word on the style or type of film yet, but with John being so close to Tupac and his family...I am kinda concerned that he might make Tupac seem like someone he wasn't. And that would just make for a boring movie in my opinion, if your going to make a documentary about someone's life...don't sugar coat it or hide anything, Tupac certainly wasn't afraid or ashamed of the life he led. Other than that though...I am not to sure how I feel about a Tupac movie, mostly because I am not a rap fan personally but he did have an interesting life...

Black Widow to have major role in Avengers 2?!

Very recently Kevin Feige with Marvel has come out to tell us that Black Widow will have a more prominent role in Avengers Age of Ultron...don't take my word for it, here is his quote.
"We learn more about her past, and learn more about where she came from and how she became in that film. The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that."
Now firstly, don't take that as a confirmation for a stand alone Black Widow movie, because that is not what he said, he said they would like to make one, but they have a lot of characters they would like to make stand alone's for. So about the more character depth in Avengers, I am not against it, but with all the other different people like Joss Wedon saying they are expanding on several characters in the film, I am worried about it being too much. But as always, Marvel has earned my trust with their properties so far so I will hold out for the film.
(Some Black Widow ass kicking for ya)

Captain America 2 directors talk about the New Suit!!

With April growing ever closer and with it the release of Captain America the Winter Soldier, the directors Anthony and Joe Russo during an interview were asked about the Captains new suit, and they had this to say...
"We wanted to put Cap in a space where he's a special forces operative for SHIELD who goes on missions around the world that are clandestine and sometimes require a certain level of anonymity or stealth. We wanted to use his super soldier outfit from the comic books as a way to represent, thematically, his place in the world of SHIELD and the difference between working for SHIELD and being Captain America. That's something that gets explored on a very concrete level in terms of what outfits are used in the film. We didn't feel like we were messing with the icon. We just felt like we were being faithful to the more recent issues of the comics. The movie has a very thematic component in terms of the use of costumes."
I personally really like his new look, he looks more stealth, more powerful, but still retains that look and feel of Captain America. I think the directors knew exactly what they wanted and did their best to stay as true to the character of Captain America as possible while still showing us their vision. I can not wait for this come out, the first one was my favorite phase 1 movie.

New Transcendence Trailer!!

We were given our second trailer for the the Johnny Depp film, Transcendence, and let me tell you...I think it looks better and better with each peek they give us. When I first heard about this film I was on the fence with it, the description was a little blah to me. Now that we have had 2 trailers. I am totally on board for this movie. It looks amazing, the cast is solid, the premise now that I can see it on screen looks enticing, thrilling, and drama filled. So I can't wait for Transcendence! The second trailer is below, enjoy!

RoboCop Movie Review!!!

I just watched the 1980's reboot RoboCop, and I can honestly tell you...it was way better than I was expecting. The reboot has nothing on the original, don't get me wrong, the first one was bloody, violence full of all the destruction we love from our 80's action movies. But the reboot is a fantastic new take on the franchise, he's as bad ass as the first, but without all the gore so your teens can also enjoy the film. I really enjoyed the human elements added to the story and the character, plus the humans vs robots type of approach it took. After Detective Alex gets caught in a car bombing his wife, desperate to save him, signs him up for a experiment to salvage him as much as possible. Going from someone that was virtually destroyed and left for a dead, a second chance at life becoming RoboCop. The original story from the 80's is still very much present in terms of making him more machine than man, and having to find himself again, which is something I enjoyed. I over heard some people saying the movie seemed to drag in the middle a little but with a 2 hour movie...a slower pace to catch up with everything was a great touch. So I give RoboCop a solid 7.5/10 for great action, nice human elements and a great reboot that is for more than just adults. GO SEE IT!! And let me know your thoughts.

Insurgent finally has its Director!!

Robert Schwentke, director of The Time Traveler's Wife, RIPD and Flight Plan has been chosen to helm the sequel to Divergent...Insurgent. If your not caught up on why the sequel needs a new director, Divergent director Neil Burger has walked away from the franchise, no real reason given as of yet. But we are all getting ahead of ourselves I think, Divergent hasn't even hit theaters yet, so lets talk about that a bit. Divergent is the first book in the trilogy that is slowly getting adapted to movies, and the plot goes a little like this...In "Divergent," which opens March 21, Woodley plays Beatrice "Tris" Prior, a young warrior in a futuristic society in which citizens are divided into factions based on their personality types. Insurgent is the second book in the trilogy that starts off the war being hinted at in the first. I have not yet read the books, I am currently on the first one Divergent but have not finished it yet...so far I really like the story and characters so I hope the movie is fantastic!

John Travolta a Bond Villain!?

This is pure rumor and false hope from the man John Travolta, but then someone as important as Barbara Broccoli gets brought up, its something that can't be over looked. She has by far the most power over the Bond franchise and its directions since 1995...so here you go, Travolta's thoughts on his portraying a Bond villain...
"I would love that. They're going a different way with their villain in this next film but I've spoken to Barbara Broccoli about it and she loves the idea, so that would be great."
My personally feelings on this idea...I hate it, I am by means a Travolta fan, although I did really enjoy From Paris with Love, I just can not see him in a Bond movie as a villain nor do I wish to, so if this happens I will be very put off for the next Bond movie.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Gary Oldman Interview!

WARNING: SOME OF YOU MAY CONSIDER THIS A SPOILER....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

In a recent interview with Dawn of the Apes star Gary Oldman, we were given some insight into his character in the film, I do not personally find this to be a spoiler, but last warning, some of you might...
"He's sort of the designated leader of this community, who were sort of lucky enough to survive the simian flu, that disease, and the ensuing social uprising from it. So they're sort of survivors of a community, and he was a police officer. He's known in the community, so he's more of the elected leader. We need power, and there's a power station, and some of my people go out to see if it's operational, if it's still out there, and they discover that there's a whole community of apes living there. We believed they  were all completely fire-bombed and wiped out. He's experienced a great loss, personally, and there's only one answer to him, which is to wipe them out. I see him as sort of the hero of the piece."
So there you have it, straight from the man Gary Oldman, one of Hollywood's greatest actors. I really love the sounds of this, I enjoyed the first one very much, but you throw someone like Oldman into the mix with the idea of his character he gave us, and I can't wait to see it!

Tarzan Live-action coming in 2016?!

Warner Bros. after several delays and false starts/rumors has finally issued a release date for their live-action Tarzan film for July 2016 along with their picks for Tarzan and Jane. Tarzan will be portrayed by True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard and Jane by Wolf of Wall Street actress Margot Robbie, who beat out Emma Stone for the role. The film is to be directed by David Yates who also helmed the last four "Harry Potter" films to round out that franchise. There is no word yet on a potential plot or direction but just based off the casting I think I can get behind this film for now, but that can all change when I see more.

Teen Wolf Season 2 Review!!!

Finished season 2 of Teen Wolf last night, but was way to exhausted to right my review, so here it is now LOL. After season 1 took so long to get things rolling, I was pretty worried about season 2 disappointing me. But it truly did not, season 2 was thrilling, left me hanging for more after almost every episode. The character growth from everyone was fantastic, the story progression was taking me to places that had be guessing all the way up to the end. The introduction of a new villain and monster, the twists at every episode, the forward progression of the whole thing was just amazingly done. If you made it though season 1, I highly recommend season 2, you will not be disappointed in the least. GO SCOTT!! KICK SOME MORE ASS!!

Marsden and Black working together with School of Rock writer...

It seems Jack Black and School of Rock writer Mike White are going at it together again, only this time James Marsden is invited along for the ride. Mikes current team up effort is for his new work The D-Train that he will be producing. Yes Man writers Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel are coming up to bat and direct. As well as his producing duties, White will step in front of the camera to play Black’s one high school friend. The Way Way Back’s Nat Faxon is also, according to reports, in talks for an unspecified role. Paul and Mogel are set to start shooting sometime later this month in New Orleans.
The plot for The D-Train is described like this..."Black chairing the committee of a middle American high school 20-year reunion. Desperate for the acceptance and acclaim he never got in his school days, our hero sees his chance to shine by convincing the guy voted most popular (Marsden) to attend. Trouble is, the one-time hotshot is now a failed actor primarily working in adverts who has no real desire to parade around his old school. So Black’s character heads to Los Angeles to try to convince him…"
Black will next be seen in Sex Tape and is voicing Po once more for next year’s Kung Fu Panda 3. Marsden, who last cropped up in Anchorman 2, has Walk Of Shame, Welcome To Me and The Loft set to arrive this year.
