Psych TV Show Review/Talk

So I was searching for a new TV show to start up and I came across a 7 season long show called Psych. I had heard it was very funny and addicting...well I can honestly say after watching all available 7 seasons non-stop for 4 days that it being addicting and hilarious is totally true. The obscure 80's references get me every time, the main characters Shawn and Gus are flat out the best combination I have ever seen on TV, I just never got tired if watching and can not wait for season 8 to start this Wednesday. Lassiter and Shawn's constant banter and Juliet's relationship with Shawn that slowly unfolds over the first 5 seasons is fantastic. If you have not seen this show I highly recommend it, if you have seen it and still watch it, what is your favorite moment or moments?

Veronica Mars Movie Trailer Review!

Veronica Mars
Firstly, I have never seen the TV show that came before this so...as an outsider looking in at this trailer I have to say I was not sold on it. It was boring, the music just didn't fit I don't think. I was not getting any feelings or attractions while watching. You all know what I am talking about, the instant attention grab and emotion that grips you while watching good trailers for power movies and blockbuster hits. Of course this could all change because I have plans to sit and watch the TV series after finishing Psych. Try and get some insight on the background of this production and see that helps grip my attention, but for now I have to say I am not overly into this movie, the trailer just did not sell me on it.

Mr.Peabody &Sherman

Yes, yes I know its another animated movie...by now you are wondering how old I am I am sure...I am an adult and all that need to be said for now. Moving on! This movie looks so hilarious and cute. I am some what familiar with the cartoon but not overly, so for the most part his is an objective view of the trailer linked below. The jokes appear juvenile, the story from what you can discern is simple, but I enjoy animated movies. Reminds me of my childhood and is a nice break from action, horror, drama, ect. So needless to say I like the trailer, it made me laugh, got me into the characters and concept behind it. So I am all for it and can't wait to see it, watch the trailer, let me know what you guys think. You in or out?

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit Trailer

Jack Ryan
The popular Tom Clancy book series movie adaption...Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit! I have to say that the trailer does a good job at pulling me into this. I have never read the books and haven't the slightest idea as to the history or future of the character. With that said I liked this trailer, Kevin Costner looks great, his character seems complicated and wrapped with mystery, Keira Knightly looks sexy as always, and like Kevin's character seems complicated, and last but certainly not least, Chris Pines character, Jack, looks green...unprepared for the world he is thrown into. Now you can't get much for the story from this trailer but what little you do get makes sense and intrigues you just enough to want to find out, so Jack Ryan! Are you going to see it? If not, how come?

Riddick Review

Riddick Review

Well there really isn't much I can say about this film...If you have seen the first 2 then you honestly already know what to expect here, it was very slow for the first 30 min then it finally started to pick up for me. All I can say is that I walked in knowing what to expect from the first ones and was given what I expected. The movie for what it was, was enjoyable once it picked up it was just tedious getting there. So if you saw and liked the first 2 then you will enjoy this one if you have not and have no desire to you honestly are not missing much. Riddick! Have you seen it? Did you like it? Leave me a comment below and if you have anything you want reviewed let me know!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Review!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Review!
So I hope everyone had a great holiday...I know I did, obviously I saw Walter Mitty with my family after we opened our presents and before we did Christmas dinner. I have to say that I loved this movie. It was soo much better than I was expecting it to be. Ben Stiller does an amazing job directing and acting in this. The story was simple but fun and enjoyable to watch, the characters were easy to get along with and funny at just the right times. If you have not seen this yet and are not sure if you should...DO IT its a great movie that you can enjoy with friends, family or just because. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty...8.5/10! GO SEE IT! Have any comments or movies you want reviewed leave it below and let me know.

Saving Mr.Banks Review!

Saving Mr.Banks Review
If you have not seen this movie yet you have no idea what you are missing. This isn't an exciting thriller that will keep you on edge, or a severe drama that will have you crying like a baby, or even a sci-fi film filled with aliens...BUT...it is by far one of my favorite films of the year. Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson are fantastic together, the story of how Marry Poppins was made into a movie via Walt Disney and P.L. Travers is incredibly interesting and fun to watch. Tom does an outstanding Walt Disney and as always Emma just has something about her...when she's on screen you can feel the characters emotions. I do not think I can push this movie hard enough as a MUST see this holiday season just as much if not more so than Frozen. Now we can't talk Saving Mr.Banks without talking Collin Ferrell's role as Mr.Banks/Travers Goff. He was flat out Oscar worthy I think in this role, it is one of his best performances to date in my opinion. SO...Saving Mr.Banks, have you seen it? If so what did you think and if not you should make the time to do so, solid 10/10!

Elysium

Elysium Review!
So...the idea behind this movie should of made this a great movie especially with Matt Damon and Jodie Foster in the mix...but honestly I was really underwhelmed by it...and I should of been, the story was weak, the director was weak, the CGI could of been better in several parts...I have to say this was a disappointment which is sad because it could of been an awesome movie. A lot of what happens doesn't make much sense is so obvious that after the first 20-30 mins you already know exactly whats going to happen though out the rest of the movie and predictability is no fun to watch. I have to give this a 3/10 and say watch this at your own risk or if your crazy busy and just want background noise.

The Family

The Family Review!

Well I just finished watching it and honestly wasn't as good as I had hoped. Don't get me wrong it was an alright movie, seeing it once was worth it but certainly only once is enough for me. The story wasn't that well written, the characters had there merits and funny moments but all in all its was in fact a movie I would classify as background noise...something to watch while your busy with something. It was nice to see Robert and Tommy in  the same movie and the scenes that had both together where the only parts I really enjoyed to watch. That could be taken as something, like the caliber of them together can make anything good. It could just be me, but I am gonna have to say this movie over all gets a 6.5/10 and only works for me as background noise...so what are your thoughts on it? Enjoy it, have issues with it, hate it? Let me know!

The Amazing Spider-man Review!

The Amazing Spider-man Review!!

I was a huge fan of the Sam Raimi films...minus the third one, that one was just horrible...flat out BAD. I was not one of the fan boys that was sad/mad that Spider-man was getting reboot though, that could be because I LOVE super hero movies so long as they are good of course. So needless to say I was excited for this movie and I can say after just re-watching it that I am totally not disappointed with this new reboot and telling of the Spider-man world. I thought Andrew Garfield was a perfect pick for a modern take on Peter Parker/Spider-man, Emma Stone plays her role as Gwen Stacey very nicely, and just everyone worked for this I thought. The story was enticing and for an origin story I thought it great, I have heard some say slow with un-needed characters/plot but I think it just leaves a lot open to expand and as we have heard recently Sony intends to do just that. The smart ass-ness of Peter/Spider-man I think works great and is/was something I thought was missing in the Sam Raimi telling so was happy to see that here. Over all I love this movie and obviously own it on DVD, 8/10! Can't wait for #2!

Supernatural

Supernatural TV Review!

Now I know this is not a movie but, hey, I enjoy TV shows as much as movies and this one is a special case. Season 7 of Supernatural just didn't do it for me, the leviathan plot line was I think the weakest of them all and it actually turned me off the show until recently. I am getting ahead of myself though, lets start with the characters and general plot. The main characters are Sam and Dean Winchester, who are played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, and they are hunters, but not your typical kind, they hunt monsters; vampires, werewolfs, demons, ghosts, ect ect the list just keeps going. They mother was murdered when they were small and their dad raised them in the life and is what they call the family business. I don't want to give too much away for those who haven't seen it and hopefully will after this, but that is the general reason for the plot and there are currently 9 seasons and of those 9 only season 7 I thought was weak, every other one of them was amazing, they kept me sucked in and wanting to see more, it has great action, Dean is the best smartass character I have seen in anything for awhile. I can not recommend this any harder, the show is just amazing, there is nothing to like it about if you enjoy deep characters with issues, sci-fi action, mythical creatures, and again the list just goes on and on. So....Supernatural! Have you seen it? What do think of? Have any comments or suggestions let me know!

The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug

Review!!

Just got home from the theater in a Alaskan blizzard from seeing one of my more anticipated films of the year, The Desolation of Smaug. I must say it was everything I was hoping for, getting to see the characters grow and change, getting to be introduced into some new characters and even old ones, the constant action and run run pace of the movie was handled well I thought. Getting to see and hear Smaug finally was fantastic, the river scene shown in the trailers is probably my favorite. By the end of the movie I wasn't ready for it to end and I didn't realize that much time had even gone by honestly. Right from the start it grabbed my attention and didn't let go till the end. This movie is a solid 10/10 that I will be adding to me Blu-Ray collection. Only problem I had with it seeing it...was the group behind me talking the whole time...so I may have to see this again in theaters to make up for today's. Have anything to add? Have a movie you want me to review? Leave a comment and let me know!

Star Wars!

Star Wars Ep 4-6 Review!

A Long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

Now I think we can all agree that the last attempt at bringing back Star Wars was slightly less than what we as fans wanted to see...The prequel series was for the most part a big failure to the original trilogy which is what I am going to give me thoughts on, since we are getting another attempt at it with Star Wars Ep 7.
As most of you should know Star Wars was made by Lucas Films/George Lucas, something that maybe you didn't know is that the first Star Wars was made with the expectation that is was going to fail, that's why it named Star Wars at first then after the success of it was re-named A New Hope. Thus we got Ep 5 and 6 which set the ground for the one if not the most epic trilogies ever made. The original trilogy is in my honest opinion pure perfection, there was not a scene, line, or character in any of them that I didn't personally like. Yes even the Ewoks because they just worked.

A New Hope starts and centers around Darth Vader's son, Luke Skywalker, who is oblivious to anything off his own planet. That all changes with the arrival of 2 droids that are carrying a message for a hidden retired Jedi known as Obi Won Kenobi, or Ben Kenobi. With a certain set of events Luke gets dragged into a universe in the middle of civil war with his unknown father and his master at the head of it. Kenobi tries to teach Luke what he knows but again circumstances prevent this and his training is put on hold until Ep 5.
The Empire Strikes Back, is the follow up to A New Hope, where Luke finally starts is training with a the last hidden Jedi known as Yoda. Yoda is 900 year old Jedi master that went into exile when the Empire took power. Luke however cuts his training short when his friends get trapped by Darth Vader, who at the time is still obvious to Vader being his father. After the fight and Luke losing his hand Vader tells Luke the truth, unable to handle that he tries to kill himself(I am guessing) but luck keeps him alive.
The Return of the Jedi is the last installment to the trilogy that starts with Luke completing his training under Yoda and saving his friends from a gangster on his home planet, and ends in a life or death battle with Darth Vader and the Emperor.
Obviously I left several points out during all of this and that's because this universe of characters is so vast that it would be a very long post other whys. Needless to say I love these movies and the universe that it takes part in. If you have not seen them or knows someone that hasn't...share the experience with them and avoid Ep 1-3...and pretend like they just never happened.

Man of Tai Chi Review

Man of Tai Chi Review...

I was not impressed with this movie at all, I found it hard to finish but for the sake of a review I did. The fighting was badly choreographed, the story was shallow and dull, the characters where meh. I can not think of any reason I would suggest anyone watch this, even as just a fighting a movie it was poor. 1/10 is my personal rank, agree? Don't agree? Let me know in the comment section below.

Thor the Dark World

Thor the Dark World Review!!

If you love anything about the phase one Marvel universe movies then you will flat out LOVE this movie, the action is bad ass, the story is well done, the character growth is exactly what you want to see, Loki and Thor play off each other sooo well its not even comparable to anything in years. This is a 10/10 movie that is Blu-Ray worthy.

Spoilers!!

Getting to see the dark elves was fantastic, the idea of darkness being the dominate force before the creation of the universe as its known now and the elves wanting to bring that back was a nice back story to expand on the relationship between Loki and Thor. Seeing Thor grow from the spoiled brat in the first one, and the does't play well with others in Avengers into a warrior that all the 9 realms fears and respects was great. Having Jane come across the dark matter that the elves  need to make their plan a reality did seem kinda forced as a plat device to have Jane in the movie but it played really well. When Asgard was attacked and Thor/Loki's mother was killed (which her fight scene leading into was awesome!) getting to see the anger and hate from Loki was fantastic and it worked well to get Thor and Loki to work together. Even the death scene of Loki(which he doesn't really die) was great, in that moment the emotion and setting make you truly believe that he did. All in all other than the forced plot of Jane this movie was by far my favorite Marvel movie under Avengers.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug!!

This movie is set to hit theaters 12/12/2013 and as a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings and the last Hobbit movies I am crazy excited for this release! I can't wait, finally getting to see more of Smaug, and just more of middle earth, the dwarves, and heck yeah Gandalf! The most bad ass wizard ever. If you can't tell I love these movies, they rank up there with the first Star Wars Trilogy for me. What about you guys, excited? Favorite part in the Hobbit movies or LotR movies? Let me know!

2 Guns Review!!

2 Guns Review!

Just finished watching this movie, it was suggested by a friend that I make the time to see it. I have to say it was really good actually, and normally his taste in movies sucks...the actors seemed to have good chemistry, the story was fun, the comedy was timed great. If your looking for something to just watch cause your in the mood for something funny, has a little bit of action, an easily followed story and characters you can enjoy watching I suggest this movie, 7/10 is the rating I feel inclined to give it. Did you guys see it? What did you think? Let me know!

Marvel Universe Movie Review!

Iron Man

Kicking off the list of the Marvel cinematic universe is Iron Man, you know the one that started it all. This move was just bad ass all around, the cast, the story, the characters, and the CG were just amazing. Right off the bat we get a good look at Tony Stark and where he starts and what causes his change into Iron Man. I mean the fact that this movie kick started a the franchise is proof enough that its one of the best. 10/10 rating from me hands down.

The Incredible Hulk

I am forgetting the failed attempts at him prior to this release because this one just does it right and it tied into the Avengers. Now this one I was scared it was going to be another epic failure attempt at bringing the Hulk back to the big screen. Boy was I wrong, this movie was amazing, I loved the villain, I loved the cast, the story, and action scenes are just bad ass, if you have not seen this movie you are missing out. It does seem slow at times but I can over look that in the grand picture of things. The Incredible Hulk...8/10.

Captain America : The First Avenger

Here we have Captain America : The First Avenger, and as the title says he is the very first superhero in this Marvel universe. He is a super solder that was created during WW2 as a counter to Germany's attempt at making them. Needless to say they failed. This movie had a awesome tone and in my honest opinion the best of them leading into the Avengers. It really fit the timeline the cast was incredible and as a nice look into SHIELD's history and Tony Stark's father's part/place. It just tied everything together very nicely into a bow for me. I loved it, easier gets a 10/10 from me.

Thor

Thor is a Norse mythology god that just happens not to be mythology but existence on another planet with technology so far advanced that they appear god like to us. I really enjoyed this movie, it was really slow at times and the action was in spurts BUT it really worked for this one. It was a story of a god learning what it means to truly care for others and his role as the next king of Asgard. We also get our first look at Hawk in this one, not much of a look but we do still see him nonetheless. SPOILER! -- The Scene at the end where he chooses to destroy the rainbow bridge so save a world he wanted to burn at the start...I may or may not have cried a little...and been like " Fuck yeah! You do it Thor!" to myself...all in all 9/10 on this one from me.

Iron Man 2

As much as I loved the first Iron Man...the only reason we got #2 was to introduce one the hottest women alive as Black Widow...and boy is it worth it. It may just be me but she owns this movie, every scene she's in its all her. But all in all it did fall short for me compared to the first one, the villain seemed weak, the story just wasn't as fluid as the first. Still and awesome movie but it does't get a 10....more like a 8/10

The Avengers

Finally....The Avengers! This movie made cinematic history with it's box office explosions and epic conclusion to Phase one for the Marvel Universe. This rates at my second all tine favorite comic book movie of all time under Man of Steel. Getting to see all our beloved Marvel heroes together on the screen in epic battles, witty banter, and going from not trusting each other to working together to save the planet from an invasion....HELL YEAH! This gets a easy 10/10 from me. There is nothing I did not enjoy about this movie and I am excited to see Phase 2 in the Marvel cinematic universe.

Like what you saw here? Have comments of your own? Let me know what you got!

Pain and Gain Review!

So I just finished watching this...and ho my god was it just flat out stupid...I can't believe I actually finished it, the ONLY good part or actor was The Rock. Other than that whether it was based off a true story or not it was terrible...I can not in good conscience recommend anyone subject themselves to this movie. 0/10! There goes 129 min of my life I can never get back...

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Rise of the Planet of the Apes Review!

Hey there folks, I just re-watched this movie and figured I would do a short review on my opinion of it, here we go!
So this is a reboot of the classic Planet of the Apes movies and yes I am intentionally forgetting the 2001 attempt at this because well...it sucked! Here it starts with how they came to be and basically Caesar's raising's and where he came from. I personally really enjoyed this movie, it explained everything well, the characters were easy to get into and after re-watching I may have to go and buy this on Blu-Ray. Now I re-watched it because someone on twitter reminded me that there is a sequel to this movie coming in 2014, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. I am not overly excited for it but I am interested in where this may go so for this reboot of the classics I give it a 8/10.
